Our client, a well-established UK manufacturer based in Bordon, is seeking an experienced Sales Ledger/Credit Controller to join their small, friendly finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit control and possess the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and key stakeholders.

Credit Controller - About The Role

Working alongside the Purchase Ledger Assistant and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end accounts receivable process. You will work closely with the Project and Sales team and main responsibilities include:

  • Issue sales invoices, retention invoices, and valuations within set deadlines
  • Conduct credit checks on new and existing customer accounts
  • Communicate weekly with the credit insurance partner
  • Prepare and report on customer account positions weekly, including action plans
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers via phone and email
  • Resolve queries efficiently, liaising with internal and external departments as needed
  • Allocate incoming payments using remittance advices and payment certificates
  • Generate and distribute customer statements
  • Continuously seek improvements in credit control processes and procedures

The successful Credit Controller will have/be:

  • Credit control experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Organised and attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel skills
