Junior Quantity Surveyor.

We are now supporting our client to recruit a Junior Quantity Surveyorto support the Senior Quantity Surveyors within the team,working fromtheir Southern head office in Bordon. The role will be working on work on a range of interesting civil engineering schemes in Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and West Sussex, including, Structures, River works and Flood Protection. The role will be based out of the Bordon Regional Office but there will be an element oftravelling to site locations across the UK.

Main Responsibilities of the Junior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Provide general assistance to Senior Quantity Surveyors
  • Assist with preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
  • On-site visits where you be involved with measurement and measurement of drawings as required.
  • Assist with identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
  • Assist with preparation of estimates
  • Assist with analysing sub-contractors quotations
  • Assist with preparation and agreeing variation accounts

Ideal background - Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

  • Highly organised individual with great communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English and be able to demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving
  • Ability to negotiate across the various levels of any Civil / construction environment
  • Must have at least 1-2 years experience of working in a civil engineering environment with a main contractor and undertaking the commercial function for active contracts.
