Warehouse Shift Operative – with Forklift Licence/Experience
- Job Type: Full-time Monday–Friday, Shift pattern 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm
- Location:Â Borehamwood, Elstree
- Salary Range: £26,000, shift allowance up to £4,700
- You must have: 5 years continuous work experience for the last 5 years (you may have a gap of up to 28 days but would need to provide a character reference, if the gap is for longer than 30 days, you must have evidence for proof of income)
- FLT: Reach truck or counterbalance licence, client may help with licence renewal
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Shift Operative to join our client’s team. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficient operation of their warehouse and ensuring the highest level of service to all stakeholders including patients, suppliers, and various departments within the organisation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Receive, identify, and inspect incoming goods, completing associated documentation and requests for quality control testing.
- Store incoming stock items accurately in their designated locations and update the SAP Inventory Control system.
- Maintain strict segregation between quarantined and released raw materials and finished products in compliance with cGMP.
- Execute onsite deliveries of incoming items to user departments.
- Pick and assemble orders for user departments and sections, ensuring accurate recording of all stock movements on the SAP system.
- Prepare and dispatch finished product orders following Good Distribution Practice (cGDP), Cold Chain Distribution (CCD), and Ministry of Transport Known Consignor guidelines.
- Assist in daily cycle counting to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Operate forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment safely, performing daily maintenance checks.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse environment.
- Support daily objectives to achieve 100% stock traceability and zero reject batches.
- Maintain effective communication with Production, Engineering, and Marketing teams, as well as external courier companies for optimal service and problem-solving.
- Handle hazardous materials with utmost safety and security.
- Participate in training programs as required and be on call for a minimum of 7 weeks per year to cover any out of hours requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in warehouse operations and familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Proficient in using SAP Inventory Control system and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of cGMP, cGDP, CCD, and health and safety standards.
- Skilled in operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
