Parkinson Lee Executive Search are currently working with a leading industrial manufacturer, which operate globally, supplying into aerospace defence, energy, oil & gas sectors in the search for their next General Manager.
This General Manager, will lead a c£65M turnover site responsible for P&L, managing a committed and multi-disciplined workforce of approximately 70 employees, and ensuring the achievement of demanding targets and growth plans.
This role requires a financially astute individual capable of reporting to the group on cost management and production output while maintaining operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in operational transformation, cost reduction, and productivity improvement. As a key supplier in the aerospace and energy industries, the role demands adherence to the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, quality control, supply chain management, and facility maintenance.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for business expansion and market growth within the aerospace and energy sectors. Develop strategic initiatives to enhance market share and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring exceptional service delivery and responsiveness to their evolving needs.
- Manage budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-effective measures.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Uphold a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Parkinson Lee Executive Search are keen to speak with individuals that have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role within aerospace manufacturing environment, preferably supplying into metal and/or energy sectors.
- Strong business acumen with a track record of driving operational efficiency and profitability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business development, and customer relationship management.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, quality standards (ISO, AS9100, NADCAP), and safety practices.
