Sports Coach (SEMH Support)

Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Sports Coach to work full-time within an alternative provision based inside a secondary school in Boston, Lincolnshire. In this role, you will work closely with students who display challenging behaviour and require additional support to reach their full potential. Sports coaches are well-suited for this role as they possess the skills to inspire and engage students, foster positive relationships, and establish a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Sports Coach:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs through tailored activities and interventions.
- Using sports and physical activities as a tool to engage students and promote positive behaviour.
- Building strong relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.
- Assisting in classroom and alternative provision settings, working 1:1 or with small groups.
- Helping students develop coping strategies, resilience, and confidence.
- Collaborating with school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements of a Sports Coach:
- Previous experience as a sports coach or working with young people in an educational or SEMH setting.
- A strong understanding of how sports and physical activity can support students' mental health and behaviour.
- Excellent interpersonal and behaviour management skills.
- A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (essential).
