Job Purpose
- This administration/coordinating role will support the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager in the successful delivery and implementation of Bournemouth University's equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.
- To provide organisational and administrative support to the EDI Manager and EDI Committee.
- To provide administrative support to the wider Leadership Talent and Organisational Development Team and the HR Service as required.
- Be a visible and approachable champion who always role models inclusive and value-based behaviours.
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager to contribute to the successful delivery of BU's equality, diversity and inclusion vision. Working as part of our Human Resources and Organisational Development Team this is a very varied role, and you will work with a range of stakeholders across BU. There will be involvement across a variety of areas including developing communications, organising engagement events, managing our EDI webpages, supporting our staff networks, providing comprehensive administrative support and managing the EDI inbox.
About you
We're looking for someone who is genuinely committed to helping shape a diverse workforce and creating an inclusive experience for our community. Being highly organised, the ability to build effective relationships, communicate clearly and work proactively and collaboratively will be key. As a key member of the central EDI Team, we need a team player who is resilient, supportive to colleagues and flexible in terms of approach to work.
This is a temporary role to start at the end of February, maybe slightly earlier, in order to do a handover. This position is hybrid - 3 days office 2 days home and is till the end of July in the first instance.
Strong administration skills needed, proficiency in Microsoft Outlook packages, good communication skills as you will be speaking with a range of stakeholders at all levels, internal and external, excellent organisation skills and a high level of attention to detail. An interest in ED&I is preferable.
