Senior Commissioning Officer - Children's Services

(Focus on Short Breaks for Children with SEND)

Are you passionate about improving services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a Senior Commissioning Officer to lead the redesign and commissioning of Short Breaks services.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the full retendering of the Short Breaks service.
• Develop and manage a project plan for service improvement.
• Ensure value for money while delivering high-quality services.
• Work with stakeholders, families, and partners to co-develop services.
• Report on progress at senior board level.
• Support joint commissioning efforts to improve outcomes for children.

What You Need:

• Experience in commissioning and service development.
• Knowledge of national policies and best practices in children's services.
• Strong project management and financial planning skills.
• Ability to use data and performance reports to inform decisions.
• Experience in procurement and contract management.
