Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth and Christchurch
Salary: £12.83 per hour
Start date: Immediate Vacancy or After Easter 2025
We are looking for a pro-active and committed individuals to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including social, emotional or mental health. The school’s focus is providing a nurturing environment that enables all pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of school life, despite any potential barriers to learning. Your role would include providing tailored provision, helping the pupil to re-engage, and responding to the needs of the individual.
Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting the Class Teacher, consistently implementing behaviour policies and reinforcing the learning
- Embrace all aspects of the school’s visions and core values
- Working with pupils with complex needs, challenging behaviours and additional learning needs
- 1:1 and small group work ensuring pupils stay engaged and motivated
The ideal candidate will:
- Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient! - this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding!
- Experience working within a SEN/SEMH school (preferred, not essential), or experience working with children or adults with additional needs
- A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
