Job Title: Enhanced DBS Sous ChefLocation: Brackley, NorthamptonshireHours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 14:00Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour PAYE or £20.17 per hour including holiday pay or £22.00 per hour Umbrella PAYEContract Type: TemporaryJob Overview:We are seeking a skilled and professional Enhanced DBS Sous Chef to join the team in Brackley. This is a full-time, permanent position with Monday to Friday working hours from 08:00 to 14:00. As the Sous Chef, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meals are prepared for students and staff, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.Key Responsibilities:Assisting the Head Chef in meal preparation, cooking, and menu planningEnsuring food is prepared and served in compliance with health and safety regulationsManaging kitchen inventory and ordering suppliesLeading and mentoring junior kitchen staff and kitchen assistantsEnsuring the kitchen remains clean, safe, and well-organisedAdhering to portion control and food costingAd hoc kitchen duties as required to support the teamKey Requirements:Enhanced DBS check with Child Workforce (dated within the last 4 years)A minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar kitchen management roleStrong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practicesExcellent communication, leadership, and team-working skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong organisational skills and attention to detailBenefits:Weekly pay£18.00 per hour PAYE or £20.17 per hour including holiday pay or £22.00 per hour Umbrella PAYEA supportive work environment with training opportunitiesThe chance to work in a rewarding school settingIf you are an experienced Sous Chef looking for a fulfilling role in a school environment, we would love to hear from you.
