Are you a Business Development Engineer or Sales Engineer with an Engineering background looking for the next exciting step in your career with a well-established leading UK company who have a great reputation across their loyal client base here in the UK & internationally?

Are you looking for a technically interesting role where you will use your technical & engineering background to develop existing accounts and bring on new business working on bespoke projects as part of a passionate team with a company who can offer a hybrid role with an early finish on a Friday?

This fantastic company specialise in the design & manufacture of bespoke products for their clients and their focus is innovative design and cost-effective manufacturing with exceptional customer service. Due to a very full order book, they are now looking for a Business Development Engineer to join their passionate team in a permanent role.

In this role you will be an intrinsic part of the internal engineering and sales teams, helping to drive growth and customer experience with clients both here in the UK & internationally. You will be required to travel to clients' sites around the UK & internationally & be responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships. As part of the role, you will be expected to work with the customer to help evolve and manage their product portfolios and will liaise with engineering teams to develop designs alongside keeping the customer abreast of any production developments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Engineer to join a continually expanding, inclusive company whose focus is to provide innovative design & cost-effective manufacturing alongside an exceptional customer service experience.

The role:

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for key customer accounts
  • Understand customers' technical and commercial requirements & work with customers and engineering to create concept designs for new products
  • Work with engineering, to complete new CAD designs, prototype approvals, compliance and production build instructions.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with new & existing accounts
  • Prepare technical presentations& reports & meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects
  • Negotiate prices and contract terms and conditions, to meet both customer and Company needs.
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.

The person:

  • HND level qualification in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • Previous experience in a sales or Business development role within a technical / manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Product design process and lifecycle, from concept to production
  • A great communicator & passionate about providing the best possible service to a loyal international client base
  • Flexible to travel as and when required & attend the office a few times a week
  • Motivated and Self-disciplined, a confident decision maker and takes responsibility for their own performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
