Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Options Officer for a local authority client based in Berkshire.

In this role, you will assess homelessness applications, make decisions under the Homelessness Reduction Act and Housing Act 1996, and provide tailored housing solutions to individuals at risk of homelessness.

Key Duties:

  • Assess homelessness applications and make decisions in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act and Housing Act 1996.
  • Provide tailored housing advice and create action plans to resolve housing issues for individuals at risk of homelessness.
  • Coordinate temporary accommodation and homelessness prevention measures, working closely with clients and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure all decisions comply with legal and council procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience assessing applications under the Homelessness Reduction Act and Housing Act 1996.
  • Providing housing advice and creating tailored action plans for individuals at risk of homelessness.
  • Managing a caseload and making informed decisions under pressure.
  • Working with vulnerable clients and external agencies to provide effective homelessness prevention and support.

What's on offer:

Salary: £28+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
