Pastoral Support Assistant - Secondary
  • Location: Bracknell, Berkshire
  • Salary: £23,130pa - £24,362pa pro rata plus Outer London Fringe Allowance of £689pa pro rata (Actual gross £17,783pa to £18,703pa inc OLF)
  • Job Type: Part-time, Term time only plus 2 days
  • Hours: 8.15am – 3.15pm or 9.00am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Start Date: October/November 2024

Join our rapidly growing team as a Pastoral Support Assistant, working either in KS3 or KS4. This role is crucial in assisting the Year Progress Leads to maintain both academic and pastoral oversight of students, helping them maximise their progress and attainment by supporting them to overcome barriers to learning.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the Year Progress Leads in monitoring and supporting students’ academic and pastoral needs.
  • Act as a role model in conduct, dress, and professionalism, upholding the academy’s ethos at all times.
  • Liaise closely with staff across the academy to ensure comprehensive support of students’ pastoral needs.
  • Engage with students to foster a supportive and positive learning environment.
  • Participate in the wider life of the academy, contributing to its community and ethos.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a pastoral or educational support role is highly desirable.
  • Strong commitment to the welfare and development of young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with students and staff.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and under pressure.
  • Must uphold confidentiality and demonstrate initiative.
  • Flexibility to work additional days during holidays as required.
