Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will assist in the smooth running of the Finance Department. This is a hands on role supporting the Financial Controller in meeting reporting deadlines whilst also ensure that robust business processes and controls are in place.
What will you be doing?
- Assist with the month end process to ensure that Group reporting deadline are met.
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet. This also includes variance analysis.
- Review of inventory including price and usage variances, standard costs and analysis of slow moving inventory.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitoring of projects
- Support ongoing ERP developments and identify opportunities for process efficiencies and automation.
- Liaison with budget holders
- Support Financial Controller to ensure internal controls are implemented
- Assistance with the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Assistance with year-end work including liaison with auditors.
- Ensuring the company complies with HMRC requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
- Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members
About You
- Ideally a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in cost accounting and financial analysis ideally in a manufacturing setting would be great however not essential.
- Confident and effective communicator with a good level of written and oral English.
- IT skills including Excel.
- Experience of supervising staff
