We are looking for a Company Accountant to manage our financial operations and ensure seamless business functionality. This crucial role demands a robust understanding of financial principles, precise financial reporting, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our financial processes. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing financial controls, managing accounts, and administering payroll.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets, to the Managing Director.
  • Maintain an updated fixed asset register, documenting acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Keep & maintain accurate records of vehicle financing & hire purchase agreements as well as the fixed asset register
  • Prepare weekly payroll using Sage 50, ensuring accurate PAYE submissions to HMRC, managing starters/leavers, pensions, AOE deductions, and wage regulation compliance.
  • Manage accounts receivable, from credit assessments to payment collections, handle discrepancies, and ensure adherence to factoring and credit insurance agreements.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with banks, auditors, and key stakeholders, coordinating annual audit procedures.
  • Provide assistance to the assistant accountant and assume full responsibility for the entire accounts department.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Company Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 and other accounting software.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
