The Role - Financial Accountant/Controller Bradford, West Yorkshire


As the Financial Accountant/Controller, youll lead a dedicated finance team and work closely with the Board of Directors to deliver financial insights and drive strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on role for a qualified accountant with a proven commercial background and the ability to manage and inspire a team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all end-to-end financial operations, including due diligence and compliance.
  • Deliver monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team with empathy, leadership, and expertise.
  • Manage VAT returns, PAYE reconciliations, control accounts, and banking facilities.
  • Collaborate across departments to align financial goals with company objectives.
  • Ensure external reporting compliance, including FCA requirements.
  • Provide key support to external auditors and tax accountants.
  • Implement systems and processes for enhanced financial efficiency and accuracy.


About You - Financial Accountant/Controller Bradford, West Yorkshire


  • Qualified Accountant (Certified/Chartered or QBE).
  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, or similar commercial environments.
  • Strong IT skills, with system implementation experience as an advantage.
  • Excellent team management and leadership capabilities.
  • A confident and thoughtful communicator with a positive, flexible approach.
  • Diligent, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high standards.


Working Hours


  • Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Flexibility is required to meet business needs.
