Residential Practitioner
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to become Residential Practitioners in a dynamic, supportive environment where you will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
As a Residential Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing 24-hour care for children, some of whom may have learning disabilities, autism, or have experienced neglect or trauma. You will be responsible for implementing care plans, risk assessments, and behavior management strategies to ensure the well-being of the children in your care, helping them thrive emotionally, physically, and socially.
Your role will involve supervising the children's daily needs, ensuring their cultural, religious, and dietary requirements are met, and supporting their school attendance and leisure activities. You will work closely with a professional team to ensure each child achieves positive outcomes, including contributing to training and supporting new staff members.
You will also play a key part in maintaining accurate records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards, which is essential during inspections. Alongside these duties, you will follow all relevant policies regarding the safe handling of medication and data confidentiality, contributing to the smooth operation of the residential unit.
This role is both challenging and rewarding. It requires shift work, including weekends and bank holidays, and will involve practical tasks such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, and assisting children with their personal care needs. You will also engage in physical activities and support children during trips, events, and appointments.
We are looking for candidates with a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Workforce (or equivalent) and a passion for working with children and young people. The role requires strong communication skills, an understanding of child development and safeguarding, and the ability to work effectively within a team and with external professionals.
As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced CRB check and complete the Warner Process.
If you're ready to take on a rewarding career where you can make a real difference, we encourage you to apply now! Become part of a team that is committed to providing high-quality care and positive outcomes for young people.
