Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a resolute Senior Residential Practitioner to take on the vital role of managing our home in the absence of the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in residential care to lead a team and ensure the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management Oversight: Take overall responsibility for the home when required, supporting the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager in maintaining robust quality assurance systems.
  • Staff Development: Provide formal and informal supervision to staff, conduct appraisals, and support the development of apprentices and new practitioners.
  • Case Management: Actively engage in key working and case management for children and young people, addressing risk factors and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Risk Assessment: Oversee risk assessments and ensure effective implementation of risk management plans.
  • Medication Safety: Ensure safe handling of medication, adhering to departmental policies, and ensuring children receive their prescribed medicines accurately.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Contribute positively to regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and best practice standards.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years working as a qualified Residential Practitioner in a Children's Home, with proven experience in supervising staff and managing challenging environments.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent (e.g., NVQ 3 Caring for Children & Young People).
  • Skills: Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to working with children who have experienced trauma.
