We are seeking a Commercial Coordinator (Pricing) to join our client based in Bradford, this is a pivotal role that directly contributes to the profitability of their company. This position involves handling customer enquiries, providing competitive quotations, and securing new business.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing business relationships, requiring effective communication and teamwork.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Handle customer queries and enquiries via telephone and email
  • Calculate and advise rates to customers and the external sales team
  • Provide timely and accurate quotes as requested
  • Resolve invoice and price disputes effectively
  • Utilise rate sheets to develop pricing strategies
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers and shipping companies
  • Monitor and maintain the pricing inbox, ensuring timely responses to bookings
  • Engage in networking and research activities to stay ahead of the competition
  • Persuade customers that our high service levels will meet their needs in terms of quality, service, and price
  • Interpret and manage customer requirements to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required by the business

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven customer service skills with a proactive and motivated approach
  • Strong desire to meet customer needs and achieve results
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain a calm demeanour
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve difficulties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks
  • Good educational background in Maths and English
  • Industry-related qualifications or experience in a commercial environment, particularly in import/export freight forwarding, is advantageous but not essential
