We are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant who specialises in managing challenging behaviour to join our team at SEN schools in Bradford. This role involves providing essential support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to thrive in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with SEMH students, particularly those with challenging behaviour.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH and behaviour management (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Additional training or qualifications in SEMH and behaviour management.
  • Experience with specific interventions and support strategies for challenging behaviour.
