Our client, a well-established online retailer, is seeking a Head of Commercial Finance to drive financial performance, provide key commercial insights, and lead a high-performing finance team.

The Role:

Reporting to the CFO, you will take full ownership of the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring financial reporting is accurate, insightful, and supports business decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the full P&L and balance sheet, ensuring strong financial controls.
  • Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, delivering meaningful insights.
  • Producing monthly management accounts and KPI reporting with commercial commentary.
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to support strategic decisions and business performance.
  • Leading and developing a team of four, ensuring high-quality financial reporting.
  • Working closely with international teams to align financial processes and reporting.
  • Overseeing marketing spend analysis, payroll reporting, and financial services reporting.
  • Driving cost-saving initiatives and process improvements across finance.
Key Requirements:
  • ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified, with post-qualification experience.
  • Strong background in commercial finance, financial control, and business partnering.
  • Experience within retail, discounting, or a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience managing large data volumes.
  • Experience using large ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercially minded, solutions-focused, and proactive in driving business performance.
