IPS Finance is working with a prominent and highly regarded law firm to recruit a dedicated Legal Cashier to join their dynamic and fast-paced Accounts team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive environment, handling essential financial functions that are vital to the firm's operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the department. The position is ideal for an individual who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to develop their expertise in legal finance within a reputable law firm.Key duties of Legal Cashier:

  • Bank Reconciliations & Outdated Cheques Management
  • Identify and record incoming payments
  • Deposit receipts for Office and Client Accounts
  • Input CHAPS payments via Bankline system
  • Process credit card transactions
  • Prepare and distribute cheque payments
  • Review and post billing statements
  • Record Client to Office Transfers and process Bankline transfers
  • Address internal and external inquiries
  • Manage and reconcile petty cash
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules for client transactions
  • Input bills and purchase ledger details into the system
  • Maintain accurate Excel spreadsheets as needed
  • Process staff expense payments monthly
  • Respond to fee earner queries
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding finances and payroll
  • Participate in appraisals and training
  • Perform other duties as required

Essential:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Recent working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Experience of case management system, Partner, would be useful Knowledge of excel and internet banking systems
