Job Overview:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in manufacturing facilities. Your expertise in Legionella control (L8) will be crucial to maintaining a safe working environment. You'll work to ensure that all systems and processes are in compliance with relevant regulations while optimizing the performance and reliability of our engineering operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and servicing of building services systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and water systems.
- Carry out Legionella risk assessments and ensure compliance with L8 guidelines (Health & Safety Commission).
- Conduct inspections and maintenance on water systems, including cleaning and disinfection of water systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults within manufacturing equipment and building systems.
- Liaise with the Health and Safety team to ensure all engineering activities meet health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to maintenance and Legionella compliance.
- Ensure that all relevant procedures are followed and that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with industry best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Valid Legionella awareness qualification (L8 or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Legionella control and relevant water hygiene regulations.
- Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience (both mechanical and electrical) in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Desirable:
- Experience working in manufacturing or production environments.
- Additional qualifications in HVAC, electrical engineering, or plumbing.
