Elevation Recruitment Group's Skilled Shop Floor Division is delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in Bradford. We are currently supporting the business in their search for a Stores Operative

Working Hours & Pay for the Stores Operative

  • Morning Shift: Monday to Thursday - 8am – 4pm / Friday 8am-2pm
  • Salary: £28,000 - £29,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, check, and log incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Store materials systematically and safely, ensuring easy accessibility
  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Identify and report any stock discrepancies, damage, or shortages
  • Update inventory management systems with stock movements and adjustments
  • Participate and control regular stock takes, working with all departments
  • Ensure all goods received meet quality and specification requirements before acceptance
  • Prepare and package outgoing orders for dispatch, ensuring correct labelling and documentation
  • Arrange for transportation of goods as required, liaising with couriers and logistics providers
  • Issue materials, components, and tools to production teams based on work orders and schedules
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained to prevent shortages that could delay production
  • Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other handling equipment as needed (training provided if required)
  • Maintain accurate records of all stock movements and transactions
  • Assist with generating reports on stock usage, slow-moving items, and reordering requirements
  • Work closely with purchasing, production, and quality control teams to ensure smooth operations

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in stores and stock control in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic IT skills, including experience with inventory management systems
  • Ability to read and understand delivery notes, invoices, and stock records
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Forklift license
  • Sage 50 operating knowledge
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting
