Autism Support Worker - Bradford

Engage Education are currently working in partnership with a special school in Bradford who are requiring autism support workers to support students.

This role will be working with learners with a diagnosis of Autism. This is a fantastic school which puts the learners at the forefront of everything they do. The schools caters for students aged 3-19 and believes that every student is unique and should have a personalised learning pathway.

The Role:

  • Working with a small class of children to support their time in education
  • Be able to adapt to the needs of the child in lessons and assist them in their school day
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage the children to stay on task
  • Clarifying and explaining any questions or instructions given to the pupil

Requirements:

  • Experience working with people with learning difficulties and complex needs
  • Experience in a SEND education setting is ideal
  • Experience with personal care and administering medication
  • Team Teach training is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to take one out
