Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to support a leading SEND School in Bradford in their search for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive environment, helping students overcome barriers to learning. Working closely with teachers, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and sensory impairments. Your focus will be on ensuring each child can access their education, build confidence, and develop social and emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse SEND needs, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis
  • Assist in the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to tracking progress
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to adapt learning materials and deliver interventions
  • Promote a safe and positive environment, encouraging pupil engagement and independence
  • Help manage challenging behaviour in line with school policies and provide emotional support where needed
  • Offer personal care assistance when required

About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people achieve their potential
  • A proactive, flexible attitude, able to adapt to changing needs throughout the day
