Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Complex Communication Needs and Autism? Veritas Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our excellent Alternative Provision in Leeds as a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Leeds
Hours: Full-time, Permanent Contract
Salary: 85-90 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support in their learning journey. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment, helping students to overcome challenges and achieve their potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with complex communication needs and autism in their daily activities and learning.
  • Implementing tailored strategies to manage and support challenging behaviour.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and deliver effective learning plans.
  • Building positive relationships with students to foster their confidence and independence.

What We're Looking For:
We are looking for candidates who have previous experience working with students with special educational needs, whether in a professional or personal capacity. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of autism and complex communication needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • A commitment to promoting the well-being and development of all students.

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one upon successful registration.
