Career Teachers support a range of schools including Independent, SEN and Faith Schools.

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at a special needs school in Bradford. This school has high expectations of its pupils and the whole team work together to ensure the best outcomes for all. This is a full-time position is available from November. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties and learning difficulties, helping them to thrive in their educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with the personal needs of pupils including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
  • To assist with the supervision of pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and education health care plans (EHCPs).
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support student development.
  • Monitor and document student progress and behaviour.
  • Encourage social interaction and positive behaviour among students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism or other special needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education are desirable.
