About the Role:

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for embedded products? We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team in Milton Keynes. In this role, you will lead the embedded products team, overseeing the entire product development lifecycle from concept to commercialisation. This position requires a strong technical background in embedded products, coupled with exceptional leadership and project management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of engineers. Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Product Development: Oversee the entire product development process, including design, development, testing, and launch. Ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Technical Expertise: Be hands-on with embedded systems, hardware/software integration, and other relevant technologies. Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring that best practices are followed.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring on-time delivery and within budget. Coordinate with various stakeholders to align project goals and timelines. Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to keep projects on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality standards and processes. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, procurement, and operations, to ensure alignment and achieve project goals. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the development process. Implement new techniques and technologies to enhance product quality and development speed.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to project success. Develop contingency plans and ensure that the team is prepared to handle unexpected challenges.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded product development.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering successful products on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical expertise in embedded products, including hardware/software integration, real-time operating systems, and low-level programming.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with product certification (CE/UKCA) and safety standards.
  • Full UK driver's license is essential.
  • Right to live and work in the UK.
