At Assure Personnel, we are pleased to be supporting a leading Logistics Service to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager.Role Overview

We're seeking a highly motivated, client-centric Business Development professional to join our Sales and Marketing team. Ideally, with prior experience in the logistics sector, the successful candidate should have a proven track record in new business development and account management.

Commercially minded, professional, and organised, candidates should be target-oriented with a strong drive to succeed while providing a first-class service to prospective clients.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for the acquisition of new clients, supporting growth and expansion by offering a national delivery service within a leading logistics network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a pipeline of prospective clients across various sectors in the Essex region.
  • Engage with clients through telesales, cold calls, marketing campaigns, and networking events.
  • Convert and onboard new clients, ensuring a seamless experience from initial contact to long-term partnership.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to align services with operational capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate client records in CRM systems and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities to maximise revenue.
  • Support the Commercial Director in shaping and executing the sales and marketing strategy.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and market developments.
Requirements
  • Experience in sales or account management, preferably within the logistics industry
  • Proven track record in sales with a history of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
  • Balanced operational and financial knowledge
  • Prior CRM platform experience preferred, along with strong IT skills
  • Ambition and drive to achieve and exceed objectives
