Computing - Curriculum Lead

The school is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Curriculum Lead who is ready and eager to drive and promote Computing across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 while upholding and fostering their core values. The school offers staff leadership coaching and a comprehensive professional development plan, making it an ideal choice for experienced Computing Teachers looking to step up or current Curriculum Leads.

Salary:Paid to Scale

The role of Head of Department for Computing:

  • Teach Computing to Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
  • Lead the development of resources, syllabuses, schemes of work, marking policies, assessment, teaching, and learning strategies for the department
  • Support the leadership team in achieving agreed goals for the department
  • Promote the school's visions, values, and ethos
  • Contribute to maintaining and elevating standards across the academy
  • Stay updated with national teaching practices and department-specific developments
  • Contribute to broader school activities
  • Manage and lead the department's planning
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Strategically plan for key transition areas
  • Be accountable and contribute to other areas, including recruitment, exam entries, budget monitoring, performance evaluation, and development
  • Be committed to enhancing outcomes for all students

Attributes of the Computing Head of Department:

  • Be an outstanding classroom teacher
  • Possess excellent leadership skills
  • Have the ability to develop and motivate students and staff to raise expectations
  • Be innovative and creative in teaching practices
  • Demonstrate a strong passion for learning and teaching
