We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing UK business seeking a financially astute and commercially driven accountant to support their expanding online operations.In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing financial processes related to e-commerce sales channels, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing financial insights to drive business performance. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and digital marketing, to optimise financial efficiency and profitability.Key Responsibilities:Â- Oversee the financial management of e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Shopify, and other online marketplaces
- Reconcile online sales transactions, payment gateways, and merchant accounts
- Monitor VAT compliance for domestic and international online sales
- Analyse sales data and provide insights to support pricing, forecasting, and cost control
- Manage cash flow and working capital related to e-commerce operations
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure smooth financial integration with inventory and logistics
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and system efficiencies
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or strong QBE candidates with relevant experience
- E-commerce finance experience—familiarity with accounting for Amazon, Shopify, eBay, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of multi-currency transactions and VAT implications for online sales
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with finance software and e-commerce integrations
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and within a team
