Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be partnering with a dynamic Manufacturing organisation in the Bridgend area, in their search for an experienced Inventory Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis, initially for up to 6 months with potential extension or a permanent role offered.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, my client is seeking an accomplished Accountant who has previous practical knowledge of standard costing and management reporting whilst working in a similar sector e.g. distribution / wholesale / manufacturing. The client is seeking a candidate with strong analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with non-financial managers and employees from other functions. You will be an integral part of the team, providing accurate and timely information.

The main duties of the role will include -

  • Ensure all inventory standards, price lists and Intrastat information are maintained and updated.
  • Deliver control around the inventory process including movements, requests, reconciliations, confirmations.
  • Monitor write offs/scrapping, returns and warranty costs
  • Create and deliver weekly and monthly inventory reporting packages
  • Deal with stock, inventory and PPV reports
  • Manage all relevant company stock takes within the UK
  • Manage monthly Management accounts (Month End Close)                         
  • Responsible for Inventory reconciliation
  • Financial analysis
  • Satisfy and support all master data requests e.g. standard costs etc.
  • Support interim and year end group and statutory audit processes.
  • Support SOX audit

The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level or equivalent, in relevant business/finance related discipline. You will ideally be qualified or part qualified/working towards a recognised Accounting Qualification (ACCA/CIMA).

Knowledge of another modern European language would be beneficial.

Advanced Excel, together with excellent general IT literacy skills, in particular Microsoft Office suite would be beneficial as well as previous knowledge of ERP/Database systems, Oracle, Hyperion.

Our client operates a hybrid working policy which includes 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH, however during the onboarding and 1 st month, it would be expected that the successful candidate is on site in order to get to grips with the role and systems used.
