Job Title: Management Accountant (Maternity Leave Cover)Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the Role:We are looking for an experienced and motivated Management Accountant to join our client's finance team for a maternity leave cover. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting activities, including financial reporting, query resolution, journal postings, and the preparation of financial statements. You will work closely with other finance team members to ensure accurate financial records and smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including profit & loss accounts and balance sheets.

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

  • Journal Entries:

    • Post accurate journal entries for various financial transactions.

    • Ensure proper allocation of costs and revenues in accordance with accounting principles.

  • Query Resolution:

    • Address and resolve financial queries from internal stakeholders.

    • Assist with account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified and rectified.

  • Balance Sheet Management:

    • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of data.

    • Ensure that all balance sheet items are accurately reported and reviewed.

  • Double-Entry Bookkeeping:

    • Apply double-entry bookkeeping principles to ensure the accuracy of financial records.

    • Monitor financial transactions to ensure all entries are posted correctly.

  • Ad-Hoc Duties:

    • Provide support during audits and financial reviews.

    • Assist with other financial tasks and reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
