Experienced Senior Accountant required for Manufacturing client based near to Telford.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting activities and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The Senior Accountant’s main role is to analyse financial data, prepare financial statements, and provide valuable insights to support decision-making processes.

This is a temporary on-going assignment, with a view to going permanent.

 Hourly pay £25.00 - £26.00ph

My client is looking for an experienced candidate that has knowledge of the following processes:

  • P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements and have previously done Group reporting within a business.
  • You must have previous experience in producing financial statements,
  • You must have Excel knowledge and be proficient with analysing and preparing financial data.
  • A background in manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Day to Day you will:

Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies in financial reporting processes.

Coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to reporting timelines and accuracy of financial information.

Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance and communicate insights to management.

Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data, validate assumptions, and provide inputs for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.

Develop and maintain financial reporting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.

Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations, standards, and reporting requirements, and implement necessary adjustments in financial reporting processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements, automate financial reporting processes, and improve efficiency.

You will require to have:

A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA is preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and

regulatory requirements.

At least 3 years of experience in financial reporting to a Group and within the Company.

Skills required:

Proficiency in financial reporting tools and systems. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide

insights.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet

deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-

functional teams and stakeholders.
