SRG are currently working with a leading innovator within the materials sector, looking for an experienced Production Chemical Engineer to join the team. The role focuses on setting up the manufacturing processes, ensuring the safety of production and quality of products. This position involves collaborating with multiple teams, overseeing chemical processes and troubleshooting issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining, specifying and sourcing chemical and explosives processes, manufacturing equipment and ancillary plant in collaboration with the Chemist, safety, compliance and production teams.
  • Assisting with the design and construction management of new plant.
  • Implementing process safety management for new and existing processes.
  • Conducting commissioning and validation of new plant and processes.
  • Developing SOPs for production activities.
  • Monitoring chemical production processes, providing technical support and ensuring compliance with relevant legal regulations whilst maintaining output quality.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Recent experience within a Manufacturing/ Process Engineering environment with an explosive/ chemical / hazardous industry focus.
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous chemical processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proven recent experience in CAPEX management, process design, optimization and troubleshooting.
