Gleeson Recruitment Group are working exclusively in partnership with one of the most well-known brands in the West Midlands, a true heritage UK brand. They are looking to recruit a Group Financial Reporting Manager, due to internal growth within the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious business, who are well-known for their progressive culture and for developing their staff. It would be the perfect role for a technically minded accountant, who is looking for their first role outside of practice, or for a 2nd mover with some industry experience.

You will benefit from a flexible working pattern and 3 days a week working from home.

Key responsibilities for the Group Financial Reporting Manager role:

Financial Statement Preparation:

  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant reporting standards and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.

Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Continuously assess and enhance control procedures to meet evolving business needs.

Process Optimisation:

  • Streamline financial reporting processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices to enhance the quality and speed of financial reporting.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing financial reporting team.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.

Qualifications and experience required for the position:

  • Recognised accountancy qualification - ACA or ACCA
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
