Dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable homes and improving lives, this organisation is looking for a talented Head of Assets to lead their strategic asset management function.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior leadership role where you will shape and deliver strategies that ensure the safety, sustainability, and long-term viability of a diverse housing portfolio.

The Role

As the Head of Assets, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, planning, and delivery of asset management activities. Reporting to the executive team, you will lead on driving sustainability, compliance, and investment programmes to maintain and improve the organisation's housing stock.

You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver safe, well-maintained homes that meet the needs of residents while ensuring value for money. This is a critical role for ensuring the organisation continues to meet its regulatory obligations and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Asset Management: Develop and implement an overarching asset management strategy that aligns with organisational objectives.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all properties meet regulatory standards for building safety, fire safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Investment Planning: Oversee the planning and delivery of capital investment programmes, including planned maintenance, refurbishment, and retrofit projects.
  • Sustainability: Lead the organisation's approach to decarbonisation and energy efficiency, ensuring the portfolio meets net-zero and EPC targets.
  • Data and Insight: Drive improvements in asset performance by leveraging data and technology to inform decision-making and investment priorities.
  • Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the asset management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the senior lead for asset-related matters, engaging effectively with internal teams, residents, contractors, and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader with a strong background in asset management and social housing. Key attributes include:

  • Experience: Significant experience in asset management, including strategy development and managing large investment programmes.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of housing regulations, compliance standards, building safety, and sustainability in the housing sector.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, inspire performance, and deliver results at a senior level.
  • Strategic Thinking: Skilled at balancing short-term priorities with long-term strategic goals to deliver value-for-money improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management: A confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including residents, contractors, and senior leaders.
  • Qualifications: Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
