We are currently working with a progressive Midlands based Local Authority looking for 3Interim Year-End Accountant's to support their finance team through year-end preparations.Â
Year-End Accountant(x3)Start: ASAPRate: £400-£600 p/d (Inside IR35)Duration: 3 – 6 Months Initially Hybrid Working Arrangement: In the Midlands
Responsibilities:Â
- Preparation of key financial statements, notes to accounts, and supporting working papers
- Capital grant summaries and funding allocations to capital programmes
- Asset accounting, including revaluations, enhancements, and depreciation
- Implementation and compliance with IFRS16 (Leases)
- Resolving a backlog of reconciliations and related queries
- Compilation of group accounts
- Liaison with external auditors, managing documentation and responses
- Support for daily treasury management and analytical review
Requirements:
- Proven experience in year-end accounting within local government
- Strong knowledge of asset accounting, IFRS16, and treasury functions
- Experience in liaising with auditors and handling reconciliations
- CCAB or equivalent qualification preferred
