We are currently seeking a Qualified Autism Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in schools across Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Dudley. If you have a passion for supporting students with ASD and have the necessary qualifications and experience, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:* Provide specialist support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to help them succeed academically and socially.* Work closely with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.* Support students both in and out of the classroom, using strategies that promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and academic progress.* Foster an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to engage in learning.* Assist with developing social skills, communication strategies, and self-regulation techniques for students with ASD.* Monitor student progress, providing feedback and contributing to ongoing evaluations and assessments.Essential Qualifications & Experience:* Specialist experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).* Autism-specific training or certification (e.g., ASD specialist qualification or relevant courses in Autism support).* Minimum 6 months of SEN experience working with students, particularly those with Autism.* Proven ability to implement strategies and interventions that support the learning and development of children with ASD.* DBS Check required (enhanced DBS check is dependent on successful application).* Recent references: You must provide 2-4 years' worth of professional references to demonstrate your qualifications and experience.Desirable Skills:* Knowledge and experience in using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) or other communication tools.* Experience working with children who may also have additional learning or behavioural difficulties.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.* A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting students with ASD.Locations Available:* Wolverhampton* Walsall* DudleyWhy Join Us?* A supportive and collaborative working environment.* Opportunities for continuous professional development and training.* Be part of a team that is dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism.* Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.This role offers a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the ideal candidate.If you are a qualified and experienced Autism Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for making a positive impact on students' learning, we want to hear from you!Application Process: To apply, please submit your CV along with your qualifications and recent references.
