A large Civil Engineering Contractor with a £134million turnover are now looking for a SHEQ Advisor with a background within Heavy Civil Engineering, Tunnelling or temporary works to join their Project at Hinkley Point. They're looking for an experienced individual to work on a unique project within the tunnelling industry. They offer a variety of excellent work and lifestyle benefits and a competitive salary of up to £60,000 DOE.

SHEQ Advisor Position Overview

  • Aiding the project management teams in upholding the highest Health, Safety & Environmental standards across the project
  • Executing meticulous inspections with a focus on SHEQ compliance, company and client management systems and industry best practices
  • Ensuring safe maintenance and risk management of plant and materials across projects (PUWER, LOLER, RAMS, CoSHH, FIRE etc)
  • Building strong bonds with the workforce, nurturing a culture of safety and consistency
  • Displaying team spirit by supporting operations planning and delivery
  • Managing contractors and ensuring steadfast adherence to HSEQ standards
  • Conducting equipment inspections, as required
  • Delivering accredited and bespoke training programs
  • Leading incident investigations
  • Actively producing and disseminating educational material

SHEQ Advisor Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a NEBOSH Construction Certificate and a Valid CSCS card
  • Experience and up-to-date knowledge of RC Frameworks and Ground Works
  • Proficiency in Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
  • Outstanding IT skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email
  • Work experience in Construction, Engineering or Tunnelling
  • IEMA Environmental Qualification
  • Temporary Works Coordinator, Fire Risk Assessor, CoSHH Assessor, TEEPs and TSTS would be advantageous
  • Experience with lifting equipment i.e. Cranes
  • Knowledge of Behavioural Safety
  • Previously experience at Hinkley would be advantageous worked at HP
  • Security cleared or able to obtain this

SHEQ Advisor Position Remuneration

  • Salary: up to £60k
  • Car allowance
  • 23 day's holiday plus 8 days Bank Holidays
  • Discretional company bonus
  • Death in Service 4 x salary
  • Pension 5 % company 4% employee
  • Monday - Friday 10 hour shifts (some evening work)
  • Monday - Friday accommodation will be provided
  • Best Practice Safety Awards paid with vouchers
