Reed is recruiting for an Employee Relations Manager based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.

In this role you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality and consistent ER advice and support. This position is integral to managing organisational risks and maintaining compliance with employment regulations.

Due to its location, you cannot park on site. Therefore, free transport is provided via buses laid on to the site. You will be allocated a specific park and ride or bus stop location when you start based on radius from your home postcode, from a vast range of locations close to the M5 and HPC. This can vary from 30 minutes commute time, dependent on your location.

Within your team, you will be supported by HR who will take care of the smaller cases, whilst you focus on up to 20 more complex cases. 

Working hours: 9 days across 2 weeks (Monday - Friday on week 1 then Monday - Thursday on week 2)Week 1 - Mon – Thurs 7:30 – 16:45, Fri 7:30 – 12:30Week 2 – Mon – Weds 7:30 – 16:45, Thurs 7:30 – 15:45, Fri off

Duties:Manage all complex employee relations cases, including leading complex case management to mitigate organisational risks.Lead on all aspects of formal employee consultation arising from changes in the organisational structure.Provide timely and efficient employment law and management advice for all employee-related activity, including the management of employee tribunal claims.Build and maintain successful relationships with key external stakeholders and lead the application of HR policy and practice in line with relevant labour agreements.Take the lead for the site at HPC in external discussions on the implementation and spirit and intent of the sector agreements and social covenant.Ensure the business remains compliant with all the relevant site-specific employment regulations and wider policies.Create and deliver training and information sessions to operational teams at HPC to ensure the current Industrial Relations landscape on site is understood.Liaise with the client Employment Affairs Unit regularly, including attendance at the LJC meeting.Manage the provision of IR-related information to the client team as required.Facilitate effective engagement and liaison with delivery partners and trade unions on all workforce issues.

Requirements: Significant Employee Relations experience in a management role within an industrial unionised environment.Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation.Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.A positive and dynamic approach to challenges, with the ability to set high expectations.

Desirable:Politically aware with good client/external body facing experience.A Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.Relevant Professional Qualification, preferably CIPD Qualified.Mediation qualifications.
