CDM Coordinator


Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset


The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, CDM Technical Coordinator that is ready to take on a leadership role in driving safety excellence on large-scale nuclear new build construction projects.


What We're Looking For:


• Expertise in conducting design and engineering hazard reviews and risk assessments
• In-depth understanding of applying the Principles of Prevention during pre-construction and construction phases
• Hands-on experience with heavy civil works and bulk mechanical erection projects
• Ability to excel in a multi-national, dynamic environment
• Strong multi-tasking skills, capable of managing numerous work scopes simultaneously
• Proven knowledge in applying CDM regulations to NEC & FIDIC contracts

Your Role & Responsibilities:


• Provide expert oversight of construction delivery work packs at least 6 months ahead of project commencement
• Collaborate with clients and the Principal Designer on all matters of construction safety and CDM regulations
• Manage the Principal Contractor CDM compliance programme to ensure smooth, safe operations
• Support key Principal Contractor delivery functions, such as:
o Temporary Works
o Fire & Emergency Preparedness
o Marine Works
o Site Operations & Employment Affairs Unit
• Ensure timely execution of the Safety Standards audit schedule
• Review and approve contractor safety documents, including RAMS, procedures, and standards
• Conduct technical reviews of safety standards and procedures for the Principal Contractor
• Develop and deliver engaging CDM-related training materials
• Serve as the CDM subject matter expert, offering crucial support to the Principal Contractor's team
• Provide valuable advice on site risk profiles and attend NEC risk reduction events
• Oversee the mobilisation of Tier 1 contractors to the site


Key Qualifications:


• Degree in Construction or related field (Civil Engineering, Building, etc.)
• HND in Building or Civil Engineering
• Chartered Memberships: CIOB, ICE, IMECHE
• Technical Membership: IOSH
• Membership: Association for Project Safety (APS)

All positions are contract and inside IR35 with an inclusive day rate between £445 to £610, depending on pay route.
