Kingston Barnes is currently recruiting for a Product Engineering Team Leader for one of our clients. This is an exciting opportunity in which you will be leading a team of product engineers and planning engineers whilst ensuring output is in line with KPIs and working practices.

The Company: With the company's success continuing to grow steadily, they are looking at expanding the workforce on-site to maintain production levels. They are a market leader within the assembly manufacturing industry and are looking forward to another successful year within this marketplace. The business has shown consistent growth and is constantly developing new systems to maintain its competitive advantage in existing markets.

The Role: This will include the following activities:

  • Respond to engineering inquiries within guidelines and deadlines.
  • Support and implement product/process improvements per business goals.
  • Maintain and report on project databases and outcomes.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on product capabilities and results.
  • Visit other sites and customers as needed for training and technical support.
  • Review and suggest improvements on manufacturing drawings.
  • Create cost estimates, including coordinating with suppliers for pricing.
  • Prepare quotes based on RFQ requirements and deadlines.
  • Adjust production processes for design changes, ensuring future suitability.
  • Collaborate with sales, quality, and engineering teams to resolve production issues.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the team.
  • Handle team management tasks like appraisals, attendance, and coaching.
  • Support skill development within the product engineering team.

The Candidate

  • Experience as a team leader or similar title within an assembly manufacturing or design or similar
  • Qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a similar subject
  • Proficient with CAD
  • Design for manufacturing experience
  • Ability to delegate tasks and manage workload
  • Creative problem solver
  • Ability to adapt to change
