Graduate Project Engineer

Location: Somerset  Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 plus profit related bonus, pension and 23 days holiday excluding statutory days

About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic Project Engineering team. You will be responsible for the development, organisation, and execution of specialist solutions, overseeing projects from concept design through to detailed design and implementation. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Service departments to successfully coordinate projects, defining work scopes, and ensuring smooth execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Engineering team in executing projects as per client specifications, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Undertake process design calculations and assessments specific to industrial water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Carry out multi-disciplinary design and specification of plant equipment, including valves, pipework, and electrical connections.
  • Utilise proprietary OEM software tools to produce process performance projections.
  • Assist in producing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) schedules and organising FAT visits at third-party facilities.
  • Develop P&ID and 2D plant layout schematics using AutoCAD drawing software.
  • Support mechanical design engineers with GA and 3D layout drawings in SolidWorks.
  • Collate and accurately record project-specific information and assist in producing operational and maintenance manuals.
  • Manage procurement, expedite orders when required, and perform other project-related tasks as needed.
  • About You:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Excellent IT skills and attention to detail, particularly concerning engineering principles.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Effective communication skills with a professional and mature attitude.
  • Full valid UK driving license.
