Senior Safety Case Engineer - Hinkley Point C

Job Description

My client is seeking a Senior Safety Case Engineer for the Hinkley Point C project in Bridgwater. The role offers flexibility with 2-3 days of office-based work.

The Senior Safety Case Engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering safety cases for design modifications and emerging issues on-site at Hinkley Point C. You'll lead the preparation of safety justifications for design changes and work with multiple engineering disciplines as the project progresses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop safety case justifications for design modifications and emerging issues.
  • Work across disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, and Civil engineering.
  • Support the HPC Design Authority and engage with stakeholders on safety case matters.
  • Present technical information clearly to various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience in leading nuclear safety case development.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the HPC Safety Case and UK EPR Design is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ALARP principles is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific field.
  • Relevant nuclear safety engineering certification preferred.
