Working hours: 8-5 Mon-Thur, 8-2 Fri, 1 hour lunch break.

Who You'll be Working for: Highly successful chemicals manufacturer.

Purchaser - What You'll be Doing:

  • Day-to-day execution of local (UK) Procurement activities, specifically: Managing existing vendor relationships, Identification of new vendors, Price negotiations, Contract management
  • Replenishment - order placing and associated progress chasing of finished products sourced from third parties
  • Setting up of new Supplier accounts and maintenance of vendor pricing with the Company’s ERP system.
  • To support the Operations and Quality functions in the investigation of supplier complaints and non-conformances; and in the measurement of the performance of key vendors.
  • To support the wider UK Site team structure to optimise customer service levels and ensure that it continues to meet its planned OTIF target levels.
  • To support the Continuous Improvement of Supply Chain activities within the local UK and wider regional organisation

To be successful in this role our client has said it is essential that candidates:

  • Have a visa to work in the UK for more than two years.
  • Experience in a Procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing and/or chemical industry environment.
  • Ideally CIPD qualified.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing multiple vendors across a large and complex product item portfolio.
  • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrable experience of delivering cost reductions by developing positive working relationships with multiple vendors.
  • Familiarity with operating MRP systems within ERP environments, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience and competence with use of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and experience of using reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and task prioritisation skills, with the ability to self-prioritise own workload.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organisational levels.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with both internal and external customers to deliver organsational goals.
