We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team a Further Education Provider in the South East London area. In this vital role, you will ensure that students with additional needs receive the support necessary for their academic success. You will collaborate with teaching staff, students, and other professionals to nurture an inclusive learning environment.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or other specific needs.
  • Assist in the adaptation and differentiation of teaching materials and methods to accommodate individual student requirements.
  • Support students during assessments, ensuring they have access to the necessary accommodations.
  • Promote students’ emotional well-being and social integration, fostering positive relationships.
  • Maintain precise records of student progress and the support provided.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement effective support strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting students within an educational setting is preferred.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a strong capacity for empathy.
  • The ability to adapt to various learning styles and needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A team player mindset, with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and external agencies.
  • DBS on the update service
