We have a current opportunity for a Document Author on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Bridgwater, hybrid from 120p/d PAYE or up to 185p/d via approved umbrella. For further information about this position please apply.

Job Purpose / Overview
Support the Pre-Operations team in the development of the Operational Documentation required for
an Operational HPC. The Document Author shall be responsible for assisting in the production of
operational documentation, through all stages of the document's lifecycle.

* The role is based within the Operational Capability programme, part of Pre-Operations function,
which is a part of the HPC project.
* The role of the Pre-Operations function is to ensure that the future operating organisation,
including people, working arrangements, equipment, facilities and documents are ready for when
Hinkley Point C starts generating electricity.
* The Pre-Operations function is split into four different areas at present, led by a Programme
Manager.
* These programmes are:
* Operate the Plant (i.e. control room operations, plant operating instructions)
* Asset management (i.e. engineering, maintenance, work management)* Technical and Safety (i.e. chemistry, environment, radiological protection)


* Operational Capability (i.e. training development, resources

The incumbent will be responsible for writing and reviewing specialist operational documentation,
including but not limited to procedures, department instruction, work instructions, guides and forms.
They are responsible for producing documents that are compliant with company and industry
standards, that are user friendly and consistent.
Principal Accountabilities
* Writing, editing and proofreading text.
* Collating and verifying information.
* Copying text from multiple sources into a single document.
* Creating and editing pictures and diagrams.
* Using a variety of software applications to present the information.
* Work with translator services.
* Check written documents for the following;
o Compliance with writer's guide
o Process / procedure / other documentation interfaces
o If multiple levels of Quality checks are needed
