Position: Acoustic Calibration Technician

Location: Bridlington, North Yorkshire

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:15, Fridays 08:00 to 13:00

Salary: c50K + benefits

Nicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for an Acoustic Calibration Technician, with a progressive & innovative client in North Yorkshire.

You will be responsible for:

  • The implementation of all calibrations, ensuring that they are carried out in a timely & suitable manner.
  • To ensure that all acoustic laboratory instruments & standards have a valid calibration.
  • To oversee the suitability & accuracy of all customer's calibrations.
  • Checking the accuracy & validity of all customer calibrations.
  • Checking the accuracy & validity of the calibration reporting.
  • To validate all new calibration procedures.
  • To report any problems, errors, concerns or other defects with the calibration tasks to the Technical Manager.
  • To bring to the Technical Manager's attention products failing to meet performance specifications.

Day to day duties include:

  • Setup and install acoustic device/product on the calibration facility.
  • Perform acoustic measurements according to Device specific test procedures.
  • Verification of test results against a written acceptance test procedure
  • Troubleshooting errors or anomalies.
  • Liaise with the production and internal office staff.
  • Liaise with on-site customers prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job when required.
  • Advise estimated time to complete the work or advise any delays with production manager.
  • Occasional requirement to work overtime.
