We are currently seeking a Wire/Mechanical Test Technician to join our international client’s team based in Brierley Hill, West Midlands. This long-standing company are looking for a Wire/Mechanical Test Technician to be primarily responsible for performing mechanical testing during final inspection.

The roles and responsibilities of a Wire/Mechanical Test Technician:
- Conduct mechanical testing on wire products to ensure compliance with industry & customer standards and specifications.
- Carryout heat treatment capability testing in accordance with industry & customer standards and specifications
- Analyse test data and record results, identifying any discrepancies
- Produce final inspection certificates
- Coordinate/manage sub-contract testing as required
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving quality-related issues as they arise
- Assist with quality control during goods inwards (e.g control of mill certificates, non-conforming goods rejections)
- Assist with calibration of measuring equipment (e.g micrometers)
- Being responsible for universal testing machines, hardness testers, lab furnaces, micrometres, microscopes. etc
Requirements of the Wire/Mechanical Test Technician:
- Experience performing Mechanical Tests
- Able to work well independently but also within a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks
- Experience working to/with international standards e.g ASTM, AMS
- Experience with microscopy is a plus
